Though not an electronic music composer, the entire world of music is forever impoverished by the loss of one of the most innovative, original and effective film composers that ever lived. :(

Highly recommended: "Ennio Morricone Film Music", Vol.s I and II.

Also, watch "Once Upon A Time In the West", and try to imagine it with any other music.

I’d never heard of him until last night.

On the news they played bits of his music and I recognised them all. And all brilliant and very original.

That’s my tribute.

A lot of his best work was for quite obscure Italian-language films, which is why the two albums are such treasures.

He did a lot of the Clint Eastwood movies. Classics.

Yes, he scored most of Sergio Leone's movies (most of Eastwood's early Westerns were directed by Leone).

Not to forget, John Carpenter's 'The Thing': very atmospheric and very different from his work on the Leone movies.

There's a track from that on the Vol. II album.

I discovered Ennio back in 1990 whilst on a working holiday in the UK. Great stuff...
