I suggest adding a forum for Machine Control. I am building up a machine controller using Flowstone and Phidgets to control power to a table saw, dust collector, air valves and control 2 stepper motors. I can put my info in that forum.

I'm looking to do something similar with a weld cell. Don't hold back waiting on a forum to post to, they can always move it later. Waiting on DSP robotics can be somewhat frustrating sometimes, since they are busy working on the software, are limited in manpower, and don't get involved in these forums too often. I'll be glad to help out with any questions you have, and I know DSP and Embedded will be sure to speak up with your issues also. At times I half suspect that either one or both of those guys actually work for DSP robotics.... :D

Okay, I will mention that I am planning on replacing an MS-Dos/qbasic / Anaheim Automation stepper motor controller with WinXP/Flowstone/Phidgets. The main reason is the Anaheim Automation hardware is obsolete and no backup is available. The machine controller works fine but if the hardware fails it is useless. It will also be nice to upgrade and have a GUI instead of command line and replace MS-Dos with WinXP. I will use 2 Phidgets 1063 stepper motor controllers and the Phidgets 1019 8/8/8 I/O board with USB hub. I spent a month checking out Flowstone and now I am confident in going with it.
