Hello gang,
Just playing around I built this "Self Modulation Oscillator" around one of MV's oscillators. Could someone (everyone interested), please look at the way I achieved the self modulation and tell (show me) if there is a better way or how to improve what I did.
Many thanks in advance! Have fun.
Later then, BobF.....

Hi Bob

This is a cer-azy module! I'm not quite sure what you visualised for the results but had you taken any small pills beforehand?

The results are very unpredictable due to the osc's audio out being converted into hertz then a proportion fed back to the Hz input.

I'm going to guess that this may be trying to do FM like the DX7 system of feedback. If you control the amount of feedback from an osc into its Phase input you will get a predictable change in waveform, dynamically. Casio called this Phase Distortion.Too much feedback produces noise (like in the stock multi-osc noise module) but a small amount, varying in amplitude as the note evolves, can sound very nice. See my QX7 which has a feedback path around 3 Operators - very easy to rewire and play with.

If you just wanted a wide range of freaky noises then well done my friend :D

Cheers
