I doubt this indicates any progress for Mac, but it does show a understanding that they really need to start addressing other platforms, creating a controller is an easy route to have some relevance on mobile.

Would be interesting to see this remote more flexible (skinable) and on other OS platforms e.g. Android
Virtual DJ did something similar here. They created an app that is able to load skins, that are built like the skins within the software.
Lets see, what will bring this kind of stuff in future. At the moment i always have to run terminal applications with Remote Desktop - works good but needs always a Windows that is online within the network.
Regards

Elaborate more, fs to fs or (host to client) as there a many more options than rdp.
FS sms
FS radio
FS wifi
FS Irda
FS voice control
FS blah blah blah
All forms of communication are serial, Transmitting Tx or Receiving Rx or Both.
Don't limit yourself to server/client, comport is a very powerful module.
