Tabbed GUI?

Hi, this is the first time I actually ask for help. I was reading the forums for quite some time, and could always get an answer by searching. This time it seems I'm out of luck, so here's my question:
How would I create a tabbed view of elements? Easy example, a vsti has two effects, delay and reverb. Both have different knobs and buttons w/e and there's not enough space to always show both. Instead a limited space would show all ui elements of the delay, when a delay tab is clicked, and all ui elements of the reverb on the same space, when a reverb tab is clicked (of course replacing each other).
If someone could help me with an example file of just the basics (2 buttons; 2 knobs, knob 1 appears on button 1 click, knob 2 appears on the same spot if button 2 clicked, but replacing knob 1), that would be awesome. And if additionally the example would also show me how I'm aware of what ui is currently active (to be able to access the procuced data), I'd fall on my knees, crying tears of joy and repeating the helper's avatar name 12 times!
