how to avoid error

How to avoid error in this little fellow if two arrays are of different size? Different method? I don't know - either nil or trim larger array to smapler one? I'm having a dejavu that I asked these questions before, but can't find it.

I could read it a hundred times as I try to pound this knowledge in.
Also ....
If TROG ever wrote a FS/Ruby handbook ... it would be a 'Best Seller' !!!

Thanks for reminder.
I knew there was some talk on that before.

A toolbox with all these small ruby goodies would be useful.
It would be also useful due to providing general ideas on what can be done in various situations.
