Flstudio 11 was just released. It includes FL Flowstone!!
I've b bought FS3 and FL11.
Any advantages or just wasted money?
Oh and more importantly.. What version of Ruby is FL Flowstone running?
We need to know as different versions will crash when used at the same time.
So installations of FS3 and FL11 need to match.

I don't know about the Flstudio (somehow I'm not a fan of their interface), but on FS - there was definately no waste of money. FS3 combines options of it's predecessors (SM and earlier versions of FS), and offers greater stability and speed in areas in which it was a problem.

Hi Matti,
Current Ruby version is 1.9.3 in the stand alone app - I assume the FL version will be the same, but you can check by opening a Ruby editor and typing...
watch RUBY_VERSION
(don't miss the under-score!)
...and it will report back the version number in the little area at the bottom.

I own FLStudio (Signature Bundle) and SynthmakerPro (thru upgrade from FL Synthmaker), it's a strange situation for sure.
I'm not sure, but I guess dsp-robotics will try to keep same ruby version and send a new version of Flowstone for FLStudio everytime they change it in the standalone, and consequently FLStudio will provide an update.
Anyway, at the help section of Flowstone for FLStudio (
http://www.image-line.com/support/FLHel ... hmaker.htm ), below "Upgrade to export VST format" you can read:
...you can upgrade to SynthMaker Pro and export your projects to VST format. FL Studio Producer Edition (or higher) customers can get discount upgrade pricing in our shop.
(Note: the link takes you to Image-Line's shop but Flowstone is not there yet, so I don't know how much it is)
This is what I did to buy SynthmakerPro before the merging with Flowstone. I was afraid of losing this option cause I do all my Synthmaker development inside FLStudio. I can record, try synths & effects on the fly, use external analysers... The link with FLStudio was my main reason to buy SynthmakerPro, but now I cannot upgrade FLStudio as I used to do because fsm cannot be loaded into Synthmaker.
The only solution is to install all future releases of FLStudio into a separate folder and keep FLStudio10, forever... or at least until I can buy Flowstone. But at the same time I'm afraid of installing FLStudio11 in case it changes something of SynthmakerPro's install... so I'm kind of locked.

I have FLS 11 installed too, and have no troubles with that. The modules I made and stored in my toolbox are available in FLS11 too. So, it's an advantage to me.

Exactly what I've done. Install FL11 into different folder. Have the best of both worlds.

Havn't seen any conflicts yet......

....we'll see...

This is such good exposure for FS.
Buritse, how much is the upgrade to FS?
Maybe you could write to RDSP and see if u can work something out.
It's worth it if FL is your only host.
It's not suitable for cross-host development atm.
For example I can't run more than 1 FS VST instance in Orion.
It's Ruby that does it, however,
like I say if ur just using FL, Ruby makes the upgrade worth it.
There is probably also the option to subscribe to FS,
you get only 1 month subscription for $35 US.
You could get one month alone,
and then another when something juicy is added.
Hopefully some FL peeps get the bitten by the FS bug(not a bugged FS)!

Yeh Nix,.... using Orion 7.62 demo, I don't get issues there.
Just tested it again, using 2 instances of the test synth, all good, then i threw X11 in for fun,
still all good.
We still have to get to bottom of this Orion issue i think..???

Oh OK,
the RDSP example synth crashes here on Orion 8.5,
if you make 2 vsts, like example1.dll , example2.dll.
It is the arp that does it.
RDSP confirmed my issue,
I wish I could find a fix,
but it seems to be Ruby doing it.
It would be really cool if u tried Orion 8.5 demo.
Here in Win7 64-bit the VSTs load fine,
but if you turn them both on with a MIDI note,
they crash after about 45 secs outputting sound.
Thanks for spending time on my issue Bill 8D
edit-still crashing, as described
