I don't know how it works, but I'm interested to have a p2p connection for direct data transmission and receiving. And because skype is so popular - why not to use such external client, to connect with other computers? Thus - data for controlling devices or measurements could be sent via p2p stream yf there would be a primitives/modules for that. Plus - possibility to get audio and video streams too - would be great.
