New Waveshapers Volume 2

Hello Gang,
Here is my second set of waveshapers . When you think of waveshapers it’s really all about generating harmonics. Move through the waveshapers by using the selector and change some of the pots(knobs) to see the degree of harmonic change on several of them. All of these make great additions to new synth designs, as they create some really new and interesting sounds. Also look at each ones schematic. Several of these plus the ones from my first set can also be created in hardware. Some of them make great guitar/keyboard distortion effects! Also they could be created in an Arduino set up. Lastly these all could be modified in many ways. So PLEASE if you come up with any great uses, mods, and so on please share.
Have fun, BobF…..
P.S., Thanks for the use of anyone else’s modules I have used in the creation of these waveshapers.

Wow! What a huge choice, well done Bob!
One issue these types of shapers can have is aliasing.
If used in a polyphonic synth, a trick that Adam published (as used by Roland) is to insert a tracking HPF, 2 pole at least, after the shape modifiers. This reduces the inharmonic partials generated below the fundamental and can clean the sound nicely whilst retaining something of an organic analogue quality above the fundamental at higher pitches.

Thanks Spogg,
Great suggestion! Sometimes I miss some of the postings.
Attached are 2 HP Tracking Filters, use as needed.
P.S., Look inside the schematics if you ever need LP Tracking Filters!
Till next time, BobF.....

I don't recall Adam posting it here Bob.
His thesis is in the public domain to view and download at
https://www.nada.kth.se/utbildning/gruk ... _10131.pdfI do hope he doesn't mind me linking to this. It's excellent in my opinion.
Cheers

No problem! Although the HP filtering is a nice technique, shapers and distortions are better off oversampled because an HP filter would change way too much of their character/tone i think.
