And, here's the earlier EQ that Martin saved-the-day on some time ago - Viola (based on the Cello Audio Palette mastering equalizer), but using the more recent filters he supplied for Dekka EQ:

This looks interesting .... and reading up on Cello Audio too.

I did notice, on your schematic, you've the top Freq at 20k ... but on the Cello site

they list 25k for the top end EQ.

Why the difference ?

Just checking the Viola EQ ...

Something strange ... when turning the CENTER knob to the Left ... everything goes out of Phase !?!

why ?

The Peaking filters used in Viola won't accept an input any higher than 20k, or they choke off.

When Cello did the 'home' version of the Palette, (the Palette Preamplifier) the top band was lowered to 20k; I don't know why - perhaps the change from discreet to IC circuitry had something to do with it.

The shelf filters in Dekka EQ and BeeGee 3 are fine operating above 20k (perhaps Martin can explain the difference).

The Center control adjusts stereo width, so at full CCW, L is subtracted from R, removing anything panned center, so sounds out of phase. At full CW, the output is mono. This is something I added; not on the Cello. Surprisingly few DAWs have a quick, simple way to adjust stereo width.

Now I'm trying to get the Readout values from the Knobs to display/update.

I tried MV's version [as a VST]. The Knob turns, and internally is changing value ... but in the DAW, the display
is not updating.
If I close the plugin GUI, then re-open ... the new/correct value is displayed.

Having a heck of a time fixing this. Seems something in the RUBY section.

I'm using V3.06

another mod I would like to try ... is a MUTE button for each of the Bands.

This would make it a little better to do A/B comparisons/Band

OK ... I have the numeric display updating as expected.

I forgot ... Reaper was using a 'bridge' to host the plugin.

Once I changed it to Embeded mode ... working.


2. Now ... to get some numeric display for VIOLA.

and then ... figure how to add an ON/OFF state for each Band.

Thinking about a type of MUTE switch ....

If we could 'Sample/Hold' the current Knob value ... then with a switch, change to a value of 'zero' or no gain.

then toggling the switch, we could go from that Zero state, to whatever value the User had set.

If user changes that value, then that will be used to toggle from zero to that.

been some time since I've Flowstoned ....

Turns out needed to use a SELECTOR prim to change state from 0 to current Knob value via
a BOOLEAN LED switch.

Seems when I bypass one of the Knobs .... it looks like ALL the knobs bypass. strange

Alright ... we got it this time.

I was using 0 as the off position on the selector ... it needs to be 1 [which is the knobs zero position value]
