Problem with multiple instances of plugin

Post by aefa »

Hello everyone,

I'm connecting multiple instances of my plugin to a Kontakt Multi on different channels.
The problem is that only the selected instance (the interface in the foreground) is the only one that work properly. The other ones don't seem to get all the triggers sent.

Any ideas on what can cause this?

Thank you

I don't know but my first reaction is to "blame" Kontakt since it must surely be the element that gives out the data to the plugins. Multiple instances work fine in Reaper.

However I do recall tulamide having some sort of Ruby-based issue with multiple instances dealing with MIDI. Something to do with shared resources in Ruby as I recall.
Maybe tulamide can chip in... ?
Maybe ask N.I. support?

Cheers

I ran some tests with instances of ample guitar and the result is the same. (on FL Studio)

Then maybe test with Reaper? The download is full and free and after the trial period you just get a nag screen for a bit. It's a good way for isolating any suspected trouble with FL Studio.

Spogg, I tried on Reaper but no control works. They seem to be all disconnected. I tried with sonar but couldn't get the routing right. I usually make music with fl and sonar only to record vocals. May be I could PM my schematic for some personal testing. (I'm not making the next Best VSTi, it's only something useful to me, for now) I'm keeping ruby to the minimum

I managed to get it working on Reaper. I found one of your posts and that helped me figure it out. I'm gonna cross reference the behavior on FLS and Reaper and post back.

Yes of course send it, please do. It will be in confidence.

Your additional information has set off my "Preset Issue" alarm. Have you done all the right things?

I listed all presets on the FL browser and all checks out (if I didn't miss a note). Thanks for that info! Very helpful

Problem solved (some how...) I replaced the ruby code with prims and seemed to do the trick. Doing more testing still.

Spogg, thank you very much for all the help!

When doing your Reaper tests, did you use the Master Bus only on the test ?
