While we're gettin' all modular here - briandc at LinuxMusicians expressed some interest in the Synthegrated 12A (based on a custom Moog Synthesizer 12), so I did that one up:

The custom 12 I based this on swapped out the Fixed Filter Bank for a fourth VCO, a second VCF, and a second VCA, and is I think similar to the setup Bernie Krause had on his 12.

And here one based on the Moog Model 15 Synthesizer. Only swap out here is the substitution of a third EG for the attenuators module, since all the inputs and many outputs have built-in inverse-able attenuators; and who doesn't love an extra envelope?

Just wanted to pass this along to anyone it may be helpful to. Some folks noticed that text wasn't appearing on their machines the way it looks in the screenshots; this is due to SM not having internal text rendering, but links to the host computer's fonts files. If one uses a font for a synth GUI that the user's computer doesn't have, it will substitute a different one.

Since I'm not up on using Photoshop, GIMP, whatever for rendering graphics to make custom GUI images, I figured out a work-around. Open a copy of your synth, delete everything except the external input and output connectors (so that it will still save as a vst), the background panel and the labels that use unusual fonts that some computers may not contain, and save this as a vst. Open the vst in a host and take a screenshot of it. Then open the synth in question, load an Image module and put the screenshot into it. Then delete the label(s) in question. This way your 'fancy' labels are there as an image and not a label that links to the host computer's internal font files.

On another topic - it seems some (most?) hosts don't allow scrolling of the GUI for ones that don't fit on your screen, the way vstHost does. Does anyone know if this scrolling function can be 'written' into a FS/SM schematic so it's actually a part of the saved vst itself and doesn't rely on the host to do it. Folks are telling me they can't see all of these tall-boy GUIs for the Moog modulars, so can't use them! I just finished up my version of a small Roland 700 modular (Rolend Block-8-which is about the same size/shape as the two Moogs), but if nobody can use it...

More modular madness - Rolend Block-8, based on the small 'Laboratory' configuration of the Roland System 700.
The 'jacks' are actually drop-down menus.

And a horizontal-layout version for those whose hosts can't scroll up/down:
You'll find it in the same folder as the original version.

Did the same with Synthegrated 12A:

Something different - a Moog modular emulation with an arrangement of modules selected to reflect the basic voice components of the Yamaha CS-80 - namely two sets of VCO-VCF/Env-VCA/Env, plus an LFO. Of course being modular one can connect them any way one wishes.

VCO-1 patterned after the Moog 921, but the other two have had their Aux sections replaced with internal PWM LFOs (like CS-80).

The filters have also been changed to reflect CS-80, having an HPF section in series with an LPF, with common modulation inputs and keyboard track. Unlike CS-80 the LPF is 4-pole.

I'm going to stop peppering the forum with each additional synth that gets done unless it's something new or vastly re-vamped. I'm going to keep doing the param-naming as I have time and stuffing them into the common folder.

I'll chime in again when it looks like at least all the synths in the original Bundle get done.

Cheers - KB

Personally I like the peppering! I always pause to admire the amazing graphics and it inspires me to try harder myself, though I do know I probably won't! I don't want to make loads of praise posts every time you post a new one but I am still following this and enjoying what you do. I hope you are still enjoying doing it for us all.

I was kinda waiting until you'd finished all this work before I put it up on Flowstoners. However, would it be a good idea for me to make a collage of some of your synths and then provide a link to your shared folder? The issue with that is how would someone know when it had been updated, when they would have to download the whole thing again.
Any thoughts?

Cheers
