Hello World,
Find attached 2 Manual or Voltage controlled variable square wave dividers. I really like these a lot!
One works by using a delay module in the feedback path of a D Flip Flop and the second with a shift register in the feedback path of a D Flip flop. The really cool thing about them is, they can be manually controlled (divide by N) or controlled from a LFO (up and down divides by voltage control) and etc.. A must is trying these through a filter or other wave shapers!

Sometime in the future I hope to make this a full blown module with case, knobs, and all. Good idea, YES or NO?

{ PLEASE gang, I would really appreciate some comments on these! }
{ At least leave some comments on what you think of them if you download and play with them }
{-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------}
Thanks and have fun! Later then, BobF.....

Hey Bob!
Wild stuff as per usual!

I think the one with the delay (not shift register) is far more intuitive and I got some cool divider sweeps from it. The shift register one I was more puzzled by.

This would make a very niche module on its own. By that I mean limted to one trick but that trick would be quite hard to create in other ways. You could create a rapid series of MIDI notes which play square waves but then you wouldn't have the real-time control which your module would provide.

In conclusion I would say go for it and make a nice module with a few presets to demo it.

Keep creating these new ideas Bob!

Cheers

According to the description this thing ought to be cool! :)
I'll try this ASAP.

Cheers!

The Shiftregister is interesting. I hear some kind of a bit-crusher here.

Hello Kirill,

If you do a search using my name BobF , you will find some more strange or odd modules/schematics as Spogg calls them that I have made, but also very usefull. It can take time searching for stuff (anyones) but it can be well worth it.

If you ever think of any improvments, mods, or use them for a clever project I would really like to see it.

Later then, BobF.....

Cool stuff, Bob! I'll definitely share if/when I do something with these. I have some ideas on porting some of my Bidule stuff using the shift register... but I also have several other ideas, so no guarantees on when that might happen. :)

Hello gang,

Find attached another method for voltage controlled (old school terminology) square wave dividing. This actually seems to even have a little more range and control than my other two. Play around with it and PLEASE let me know if you find some great uses for it or some cool mods.

Enjoy then, BobF.....
