Hi Tiffy,

Pretty COOL! Looks like a lot of work went into it.
This should come in handy at some point in time I hope.
I am terrible at creating enclosures for my modules.
Great job. Later then, BobF....

Tiffy, that's SO good!

I just put in an entry into the Wishlist topic for scaleable controls for the next toolbox so, yes, I agree this is a very useful idea.

I found an issue with v1.1: If I change the border GUI from 0 to 1 it works but I can no longer select the P properties button. I can see it and the mouse cursor changes over the little P button but I can no longer get to see the properties page when I click it. I'm on 3.08.1 BTW

Request/suggestion: Include a rotation prim (selectable in the properties) for rotating the text on the knob as it is dragged. In this way I could use the < or - or <--- symbols etc., correctly aligned, as a pointer to show also the rotation position when used as a knob.

Brilliant work tiffy, a great project idea. :D

Cheers

Wild .... this is getting to be the most elaborate 'Properties Panel'

Just a quick testing .... the Font angling works very nice !!

I need to to absorb all the other parameter controls

Nice stuff Tiffy. I look forward to your postings as you have interesting projects and ideas shared.

Thanks!

not to say "excessive" :)

while we could discuss about the sense of having every possible option inside the properties panel, there are some other points why i never would blow up a simple shape draw to a monster like this.

the first point is simply because it is totally confusing and chaotic, the properties panel and the setup is too complex. Further, also when it looks pretty flexible, it isn't because the order of the layers can't be changed, you still need to recable things to have on top what you want on top.

reordering the different shape- and text-layers is a pita because of its excessive possibilities...

and the worst for me is the big overhead of content which gets saved with the exported project - hundrets of unused primitives just being there and doing nothing once you have set everything.
i'm missing cosistency with the use of purgeabled properties parameters - sliders should be purged!

i would find it more useful to split everything into small and lightweight modules (one for each shape) which have their own (also small) properties, so that they can find a way into the toolbox
it would be also easier for beginners to understand the basic techniques for things like this

one last thing, better use labels for headings and descriptions in the properties panel and name the view input "Properties" so they will be shown only in the properties panel! thats much better than using the string primitives where you can change the content in the properties panel - this is very misleading
you also can use lines as seperators for better overview, tulamide did some useful thing for this:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3491&p=18963#p18963
(which btw should be purgeabled!)

With a further look ... I do agree with NuBeat on the many points. And as NuBeat tends to be very streamline in coding he has presented [and helped me with .... a lot !!!], I would give consideration. To emphasis, one of the aspects I enjoy about this forum and the people posting examples is my 'learning' how skilled programmers assemble their schematics.

I tend toward chaos. It's not intentional .... it just a natural gift

But I have since made a consorted effort to improve my schematics. I even got a 'not bad' from NuBeat one time, which I take as high compliment

Splitting these functions into separate, specialized modules would be great for anyones toolbox. Your postings are still much appreciated nonetheless, and very useful.
