Very simple synth with powerful sound, thanks to MV

Post by k brown »

Inspired by and GUI patterned after the Crumar Trilogy, this utilizes many components by Martin.

The Trilogy was one of those 'combo' synths from the late days of analog polys before the DX7 took over. It had three sections, each with their own vol control: Organ, Strings and Synth. Only the two-osc Synth was routed through the Filter.

The Organ section uses MV's Spread Partials oscillator, the String Ensemble is, of course, the String Orch from a few months ago, and of course all the Filters are his. Also the swirly stereo effect in the Organ section.

Only reason I didn't use Martin's Organ schematic from a bit ago, is I wanted to be able to seamlessly morph the Organ's waveforms from pure sine to the Trilogy's square waves. Hammonds' waves were not-quite-sine and had very audible additional harmonics. Martin's organ sounded a bit too 'soft' to me because it produced pure sines only.

The Delay and Slope functions in the Modulation section are Spogg's work.

VSTHost by Hermann Seib is free and is available in 64-bit, too.

Very nice, Kevin, thank you!
TriloGee_reSize.fsm won't load in FS 3.0.8.1, it needs FS alpha. When I press more than one key the synth chokes :o
Maybe I did something wrong?

Sorry, I forgot to include the FS3 schematic in the folder.

Same link as first post.

So neither the FS3 nor FS4 schematics are working?

This is a troubling mystery - the FS3 schem works fine on my old XP machine, and both work fine on my newer Win10 laptop.

EDIT: I fiddled with some things - try downloading again.

The TriloGee synth example file doesn't open in the FS demo version.
Not even the 32bit one.
Any ideas or fixes ?

The only file that the FS demo would open is 'TriloGee v1.002 (fs3).fsm' (in the 32-bit folder). If that's not working, I'm stumped - as it works fine on my Win XP machine running FS 3.0.6.
