Quilcom ASS showing as FX not Synth in Cakewalk

Fantastic plugins!
I have just one question please - I have tried using Quilcom ASS in the latest Cakewalk, and it is listed under FX as opposed to a synth - is this correct as I was expecting a synth?
I checked the user guide and couldn't see anything relating to the above, so advance ...
